Oscillatory Cylinder Tester China Manufacturer and Supplier

Wyzenbeek Abrasion Tester is also known as the oscillatory cylinder tester. It is used to determine the abrasion resistance of fabrics, leather, or other materials against standard friction media or metal mesh screen with a curved surface by subjecting the specimen to rubbing action under specified tension and pressure.

It is especially suitable for abrasion-resistant testing of textile and leather materials used in automobile decoration and furniture.

As we know, both Martindale and Wyzenbeek tests are methods to assess the abrasion resistance of fabrics. If you are looking for a Martindale Abrasion Tester, please click HERE.

Wyzenbeek Machine Test Principle

A strip-shaped specimen of specified dimensions is mounted in the front and rear clamps of the specimen holding arm. Prescribed tension and compression forces are applied to the specimen against the metal mesh screen or friction medium attached to the arc-shaped cylinder. The cylinder oscillates back and forth continuously to rub the specimen at a given rate until a specified number of cycles is reached or when other specified endpoints or failure occurs. The resistance to abrasion is determined by means of the number of cycles to rupture, percentage loss in breaking load, or visual changes.

AmadeTech Wyzenbeek abrasion tester features an oscillatory roller to allow a sheet of abrading material to be attached to it. The roller is able to roll back and forth to make reciprocating motion across an arc of 76 mm at an adjustable speed of up to 90 cycles per minute.

There are four specimen-holding arms capable of accepting 4 pieces of specimens to conduct the test simultaneously. Each arm has a pair of controlled tension clamps to hold the specimen. You can turn the thumb screw against the rear clamp to adjust the tension and relaxation of the specimen in the longitudinal direction.

The front clamp is connected to a force scaled tension bar. A calibrated mass of 340 g with a spirit level can slide on the tension bar to achieve tension adjustment to the specimen up to 6 lbf. A controlled pressure pad equipped with a force scaled pressure bar is pressed against the specimen during the test. A calibrated mass of 150 g with a spirit level can slide on the pressure bar to achieve pressure adjustment to the specimen up to 3.5 lbf.

Before starting the test, You are required to adjust the bubble of the level to the middle to bring accurate tension and pressure. Two slotted vacuum pipes over the roller are available to suck the lint and dust particles throughout the test.

We configure an LCD with the touch control function for this Wyzenbeek abrasion tester. You are allowed to preset the number of cycles for each of the 4 workstations and touch the virtual buttons to run or stop. Each workstation operates independently without affecting the other. You are flexible in selecting the desired holding arms to run the test. The machine can stop automatically once the predetermined number of cycles is achieved. In addition, A rotary knob used to speed adjustment and an emergency button are available on the control panel.
