Forced Air Convection Aging Oven

Forced-Ventilation Oven for Rubber and Plastics

Forced Air Convection Aging Oven is a device used to evaluate the aging resistance of materials such as rubber, plastics, and wire and cable insulation under high temperature and air circulation conditions. It raises the temperature inside the chamber to a preset value through a heating system, typically much higher than room temperature, while simultaneously introducing fresh air and expelling hot air containing volatiles through a fan and duct system. This combination of high temperature and air exchange accelerates the oxidation reaction of molecules within the material, thus simulating the aging state of the material after prolonged use in natural environments in a relatively short time.

AmadeTech’s forced air aging oven features an inner chamber made of 304 stainless steel and equipped with a heating device to reach a maximum temperature of 300 degrees Celsius, with rapid heating. The chamber is equipped with a high-precision temperature sensor from OMEGA, and the system uses proportional+Integral+Differential+SCR control to precisely control the test temperature. The chamber is equipped with an internal light bulb, and the door has a vacuum glass glass, allowing you to observe the samples inside the chamber without opening the door during operation.

The chamber comes standard with a two-layer rotating rack for mounting samples. You can use clips or other auxiliary devices to suspend sheet or strip samples from the sample loading area around the peripheral ring. The two layers can accept up to dozens of samples at a time. As needed, the rotating rack can be rotated at a controlled speed of 8-10 RPM to improve the heating uniformity of the samples. Alternatively, you can choose to add two stainless steel shelves with an extra cost to replace the rotating rack for holding samples.

Unlike ordinary ovens, this mechanical convection aging oven is equipped with a multi-bladed centrifugal circulating fan and an air exchange rate measuring device to achieve precise air exchange: the air exchange rate can reach 100-200 times/hr. You can set the number of air exchanges per hour in the chamber to ensure that the oxygen concentration remains stable throughout the test, while simultaneously removing gases produced by the aging and decomposition of materials to avoid interference with the test results. The principle of measuring the air exchange rate is based on determining the air exchange rate of the aging chamber according to the power consumption. Combining a wattmeter, timer, and air intake adjustment knob, the hourly air exchange rate can be calculated according to a prescribed formula. If a discrepancy exists, the air intake rate needs to be adjusted until the target air exchange rate is achieved.

This ageing chamber features a button-operated control panel. The layout is intuitive and easy to use. The top temperature controller is used to set the target test temperature of the aging chamber and displays the current temperature in real time. A digital timer keeps track of the time, and the machine automatically sounds an alarm when the time is up. There is also an over-temperature protection gauge, which is set slightly higher than the target temperature to prevent overheating, providing an extra layer of safety for the equipment. In the center of the control panel are various function control buttons, such as heating, lighting, and sample rotation. The air convection test control device at the bottom is specifically designed to measure the number of air changes per hour within the inner chamber.
