UL Rain Test Spray Nozzles

UL & CSA Compliant Water Spray Head Supplier

The UL water spray nozzle is a precision component designed specifically to spray water. It features internal channels and orifices of specified shapes and dimensions that allow water at a regulated pressure to flow through and discharge in a spray pattern, simulating rainfall or sprinkling on a test specimen for a set duration to evaluate its water resistance.

The spray head is constructed from corrosion-resistant nylon and meets UL and CSA dimensional standards. It consists of two parts: a cylindrical outer housing and an insert.

The front of the outer housing is shaped like a hex nut with a discharge orifice, while the rear exterior is threaded for mounting onto the test equipment. The insert is also a roughly cylindrical component featuring central orifices of varying sizes on its top and bottom faces. its cylindrical surface contains spiral channels and two symmetrically positioned holes. The outer housing features a cylindrical internal cavity into which the insert fits snugly to form the complete spray nozzle assembly.

These spray nozzles are primarily used in UL rain test apparatus and UL sprinkler test apparatus. The UL rain test apparatus requires three spray heads, with the water supply pressure for each maintained at 5 psi (34.5 kPa) during testing. The UL sprinkler test apparatus requires only a single spray head, with the water supply pressure maintained at 20 psi (140 kPa) during testing.

Test Standards

UL 1598, UL50E, UL 8750, UL1310, UL1741, UL970, CSA 250, CSA 94.2, CSA 250.13, etc.
