Spectacle Lens Ignition Resistance Tester

Lens Flame Retardant Test Machine China Supplier

Spectacle Lens Ignition Resistance Tester is also called the lens flame retardant test machine, is used to determine the resistance of the spectacle frame to ignition by applying the heated face of the steel rod to the surfaces of different parts of the sample.

It is a powerful assistant to help you grasp whether the spectacle frame material has the required flame retardant properties to ensure the safety of users.

Test Principle

One end of the steel rod is heated to a specified temperature. The heated end is lowered vertically to allow it to be pressed against the desired surface of the sample with the rod’s own weight. After a specified period of time, a visual inspection is performed to check whether there is a continued burn of the sample after the removal of the rod.

Compliant Standards

  • EN168
  • ISO12870
  • ANSI Z87.1
  • ISO 12311

The lens ignition resistance tester has a steel rod of 300 mm in length and 6 mm in diameter enclosed by a steel fence. It can be heated to a maximum of 800℃. A temperature-controlled device on the machine enables you to set the desired heating temperature. The machine stops heating after reaching the set temperature. You can see the real-time temperature of the heated rod through the display.

The machine is configured with a pneumatic device to automatically lower the steel rod under control to contact the sample on the support table. An automatic timing system is used to record the elapsed time of the contact. The rod can be raised automatically once the set time is up.
