IP68 Testing Equipment

The IP68 testing equipment consists of an IP6X dustproof testing unit and an IPX8 waterproof testing unit, both designed to perform ingress protection tests as specified in IEC 60529 and ISO 20653 standards.

The IP6X dustproof testing unit has a sealed testing space. The sample is placed on a shelf at the bottom of the inner chamber. Talc powder, simulating natural dust, is blown into the testing chamber through an opening at the top by a blower, suspending and filling the entire inner chamber. The sample is completely exposed to this dust environment. The dust inside the chamber falls to a collection port at the bottom of the inner chamber under gravity and is then blown back into the upper testing chamber for reuse. To prevent dust from becoming damp and clumping, the equipment is equipped with heating and vibration functions. After the specified exposure time, the sample is removed for inspection. IP5X allows a certain amount of dust to enter the equipment without affecting its normal function and performance. IP6X does not allow any dust to enter the sample through the outer shell; otherwise, the test fails.

The IPX8 immersion test equipment features a sealed tank capable of withstanding high pressure. Before testing, the tank is filled with water to a certain depth, and the sample is submersed in the water. The tank can be injected with a specified pressure to simulate the pressure applied to the sample at different water depths, from several meters to tens of meters. After the sample has withstood the specified pressure for a specified time, it is removed. A sample is considered qualified if no water enters the interior and it functions normally. Depending on the testing needs, you can choose a tank made of pure stainless steel or a transparent acrylic tank, and tank sizes can be customized. The steel tank has excellent pressure resistance and can simulate deeper water depths, while the transparent tank provides visualization. During the IPX8 test, it allows you to clearly see the state of the sample inside the tank, enabling a more intuitive and accurate assessment of the sample’s waterproof performance.

Our IPX8 immersion test equipment lid is equipped with a rubber sealing ring, and the lid is secured with multiple bolts to prevent air leakage. The top of the lid is equipped with a pressure relief valve and a safety valve. Before opening the lid after each test, manually operate the pressure relief valve to release pressure in the tank to ensure absolute safety. The safety valve primarily serves as an extra layer of safety for the equipment’s operation. You do not need to operate it yourself. Under normal circumstances, this valve will not activate. It will only automatically open to eliminate safety hazards when the pressure inside the tank exceeds the rated pressure. Our IPX8 waterproof equipment features a simple and easy-to-use control panel. You can easily set the target pressure and holding time using a pressure gauge and timer. Pressing the start button automatically begins pressurization and timing. Once the time is up, it automatically stops and depressurizes. Depending on the testing requirements, our machine can also support positive and negative pressure pressurization of the tank via touchscreen control.
