FPC Bending Test Machine is also called the FPC folding endurance tester (MIT type), which is used to test the folding resistance of flexible printed circuit boards or other flexible conductive materials. Mobile phones, PAD electronic dictionaries, laptops, and other electronic products are tested with it determining folding strength and flexural life.

The two ends of the test piece are mounted into the upper and lower clamps of the FPC folding endurance tester. The required load is applied to the sample by means of the upper fixture to make the test piece bear a certain tension, and the test piece is in the vertical state. The lower clamp rotates back and forth to fold the sample repeatedly until it is broken. The maximum folding number is recorded.

Our FPC bending test machine has a user-friendly operation mode. The user can set the folding speed, the number of folding, and the folding angle on the touch screen. When the sample is detected to be broken or non-conductive, the machine will automatically stop and display the number of folding.

Difference Between FPC Folding Endurance Tester & MIT Folding Endurance Tester

Both the folding endurance of paper and FPC can be tested with an MIT type folding endurance tester, but their testing requirements are completely different.

The paper folding endurance tester is designed in accordance with the paper folding endurance test standard. The radius of curvature of the folding head surface is the standard 0.38 mm, the width of the rotating folding head is 19 mm, and the load applied to the paper specimen is 4.9 N or 9.8 N, the gap of the folding head is 0.25 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.75 mm, 1 mm, and the folding speed required by the test standard is 175 CPM. The function of the MIT paper folding tester is relatively simple, but some users also employ the paper folding tester to determine the folding endurance of the FPC.

The FPC folding endurance tester adds a conductive device. In addition to an auto shutdown function resulting from a sample breakage, it also has a practical function determining whether the FPC flexible printed circuit board is conductive or not and can stop folding during the folding process once electric conduction is not detected.

A load of FPC folding endurance test can be arbitrarily selected, such as 50 g, 100 g, 200 g, 300 g, 500 g, and 1000 g weights are optional. The stroke of the moving clamp is usually 15 ~ 100 mm, which is adjustable. The fixture is available to clamping FPC with a maximum width of 100 mm, and the folding angle can be adjusted within 150°or a larger folding angle can be customized. The folding speed can be adjusted at 120 times per minute or even 300 times per minute.
