Rain and Spray Test Chamber is used to conduct the waterproof tests for automobile parts based on JIS D0230 standard. It is multi-purpose and compatible with both rain and water spray tests. The rain test consists of symbles of R1 & R2: R1 test is designed to determine the functionality of the parts that have been subjected to droplets, while R2 test is designed to determine the functionality of the parts that have been subjected to non-direct wind, rain or water spray. The water spray test consists of symbles of S1 & S2: The purpose of the S1 test is to determine the functionality of the parts that have been subjected to direct wind, rain, or water spray, while the purpose of the S2 test is to determine the functionality of the parts that have been subjected to severe water spray.

The rain and spray test equipment features a box-type structure made of steel. The upper part of the box is an inner box that serves as a test area to hold the sample and the water spray unit, while the lower part contains the pump, water tank and other piping. During the test the water from the tank is pumped to the upper part where it is applied to the specimen by the spraying device and then drips down to the bottom plate where it is automatically collected in the tank, realizing automatic water circulation.
There are two mutually perpendicular stainless steel water spray pipes are on the top of one side of the inner chamber. The short one is the water spray device for S1 and S2, and its outer end has two nozzles made according to standard requirements. When doing R1 test, they can spray water at a pressure of 0.01MPA and a flow rate of 1.9L/M to the sample, and when doing R2 test, they can spray water at a pressure of 0.03MP and a flow rate of 3.2L/M to the sample.
Inner chamber
The long water pipe has 40 pcs of 1.2 mm diameter spary nozzles evenly distributed in a straight line over a length of 500mm. When doing S1 test, they can spray water at a pressure of 0.1MPA and a flow rate of 24.5L/M to the sample, and when doing S2 test, they can spray water at a pressure of 0.3MP and a flow rate of 39.2L/M to the sample. During the test, the two nozzles can rotate continuously around the 45-degree axis at a speed of 23R/M. There is a height-adjustable turntable supported by a stainless steel rod at the bottom of the inner box. During the test, the turntable can rotate around the longitudinal axis at the speed required by the standard to improve the uniformity of the water spray. Before the test, the sample is required to be installed on the turntable in normal operating condition, and keep a distance of approximately 400 mm from the two flow pipes.
The rain and spray test chamber is provided with a 7” touch screen and PLC control system. The interface layout on the screen is reasonable and intuitive, easy to operate, allowing users to set test parameters and issue commands to control the test through virtual buttons, such as custom test time and sample rotation speed. Real-time parameters during the test will be displayed on the screen for monitoring. All parameters will be debugged before leaving the factory, and users can start the test directly after receiving the machine.
